POSTAGE OF FINISHED WORK
Postage following a Guest Potter Workshop
We encourage all students to take their work away with them, however, if students choose to have a small selection of their pieces fired at the studio there will be a small firing charge (firing charges are stated in the previous section).
If students are unable to return to the studio to collect their fired pieces, we may be able to post them to you.
All pieces will be weighed, and any firing charges will be applied. Please note that we do not offer a glazing service.
We charge a standard administration rate of £20 to post out any work on top of the firing charges (this covers packaging and staff time to prepare the pieces).
The student will also be required to cover the full cost of postage from The Ceramic Studio to their chosen address. We will be able to give you an estimation of cost once the pieces have been packaged and the parcel has been weighed.
We use DHL Express to ship pieces and follow their postage prices.
The Ceramic Studio will package each piece as carefully as possible, but we cannot be held responsible for any damage caused during shipping.
If you wish to organise postage of pieces following a workshop please contact the office team at: info@theceramicstudio.co.uk
Postage following a Taster session or experience day
Following a Taster Session or Experience Day attendees will be contacted when their pieces are ready to collect. We will always encourage attendees to collect their fired pieces in person but if they are unable to return to the studio we may be able to post them to you.
We charge a standard administration fee of £10 per attendee to wrap and package the pieces and post to an address within the UK. If posting outside the UK additional postage fees will be required, based on DHL’s postage tariff.
Health and Safety
Students use the studio at their own risk and must be aware of the inherent hazards of a working pottery studio environment. These risks include the use of sharp tools, exposure to chemicals and high temperatures amongst other things.
All students should wear appropriate clothing and comfortable, flat shoes with non-slip soles and covered toes. Casual clothing is recommended. Long hair must be tied back for wheel work and jewellery and watches are best left at home. Please note that we are not liable for any damage that occurs to clothing or loss of valuables. All of our students will receive a short briefing on health and safety before commencing their session.
We do require that all students read and abide by the terms of our Student Contract.
