Throwing for improvers with Africa Lopez
This 8-week course is designed for existing potters, or those with some experience of throwing who would like to improve their skills. The sessions will very much be led by your requirements - maybe you would like to learn how to throw larger pieces of clay; taller vessels; or how to be more economic with your practice.
About Africa
Africa has always been surrounded by a strong ceramic culture in her native Spain. She is a graduate of Escuela de Arte Francisco Alcantara in Madrid and is currently developing her work in blue and white glaze, as well as exploring the concept of pottery and garden.
Cost
£300 for an 8 week course (£37.50 per class).
Please note there will be a small charge for firing finished work.
All materials and tools are provided, as are refreshments. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come basis.
Catch-up sessions
Catch-ups are untutored and use of a wheel cannot be guaranteed. Any catch-up sessions must be taken within the term the class was missed - we cannot carry over any catch-up sessions into another term.
We are able to offer Throwing for Improvers students catch-ups within another session, however, students must be aware that these sessions will be untutored and regular students must always take priority on the pottery wheels. We therefore encourage Throwing for Improvers students to attend all their usual sessions where possible.
